Design is the basis of driving commerce. It exists in the operation of all magnitudes, from product innovation to building brands through advertising and brand initiatives. I hear all to often that our current education system does not promote or foster creativity and innovation. It is rather indulged in standardized testing that only tests the analytical side. Watch the video below and open your eyes as to a new industry that is emerging. Hate to tell all the old school folks but your methodology just isn’t going to cut it in the future. Commerce, business, and the economy will lie in the hands of designers. Its time we started to think about sending our children to design schools.

WOW!!! I had virtually no idea how important design is and how its operation is going to be crucial by 2010. This really reflects that there is no such thing as a safe job anymore. Creativity is going to be the driving force of the economy.

Just got your feed in regards to this post. It caught my eye as I had gone to a design school. I am very excited about this new trend. I do see this as a common discussion within the industry. I work mainly in automotive industry, regardless it is a valid point. The first design school to truly adopt this methodology will have the most successful Alumnis. I hope real design schools jump on this before all the traditional 4 years.
