Meditation & Creativity

Many people often ask me, what is the easiest way to tap into your subconscious? For many years I have been telling people that it simply takes practice and the more you try the better you get. Just the other week I was in Iowa where I visited Maharishi University of Management. I met with many students and faculty while I was there, and they shared their experiences with me. One thing I noticed about those students was their calm state of mind and ability to process a great deal of mental thought. Every student there practices transcendental meditation, you can visit the school website for more information on this (mum.edu).

Meditation gives you the ability to clear your mind and promotes your ability to focus and concentrate on whatever task you deem necessary. Meditation to its natural form allows the mind to calm itself within the subconscious level. So once you do meditate think about how clear your mind will become thereby giving you the ability to focus and concentrate on solving the problem at hand. It brings a tremendous asset to your creative thinking ability. After all creativity makes people think, “why didn’t I think of that?” because the solution is simple, but original.

Try applying some of my brainstorming techniques after you learn to meditate. You will likely have to take a class on meditation in order to learn the proper techniques and receive the true benefit from the experience. You can find more information at http://www.tm.org/.

Interesting thought I read about something like that a long time ago. I think that would be a smart alternative for someone who really cant tap their left brain like you wrote about in one of your earlier posts. I think its worth trying for sure, if i had the money. Interesting school though.
