An Unordinary Way to Brainstorm Ideas.
If ever you will hear this you will hear it from me. Many people will teach you to make association tables, like clusters and tables. Some people will say just sit back and think about it. I say don’t think. That’s right just don’t think. That will work best.
Keep in mind creativity is truly about simplifying. What you may simplify who knows. It all depends on the problem at hand. That is why I like to sketch, sketch, and sketch. For those of you that think you cannot draw, let me ask you this. Can you look back at one of your drawings after say thirty minutes and recall what it is you had drawn? Chances are most people can, and that is all you really need to do.
The Reasoning
Drawing many times helps alleviate the need to really think. It allows the mind to start thinking subconsciously. At this point ideas just begin to flow and before you finish one drawing of your initial concept out comes another and another.
Sounds Difficult
Sounds difficult not to think, but we are all able to not think when we dream. It is just a matter of your subconscious activity. Your not purposely thinking, it is your mind thinking on its own, developing its own plot, own scenario, choosing who is in your dream and who is not. It is your mind being creative. Try to use your subconscious to your benefit.
How To Tap Into Your Subconcious
Tapping into your subconscious for some is simple. If you have never really attempted it, it is a process but with practice you will achieve it. If you want real results you must learn to imagine things in your mind and let it flow naturally.
For Beginners
Start by placing a pad of paper on your lap with a pencil in your hand. Place the tip of the led on the pad and just keep it there.
Now close your eyes, and imagine a deep black background. Try very hard to keep that deep black background. Then slowly cross fade that deep black background into another color like red. Then try to transition back into a black one again.
If you can complete that simple task it is time to start getting creative. Pick any object. In this scenario we will use a black mans Afro. Why? I do not know it was the first thing that popped into my head.
.
Close your eyes and bring back that deep black background and place that afro into your mind. We all have different images in our heads as to what an Afro looks like, but just picture yours. Hold it in that deep black background and draw it on your paper keeping your eyes closed.
Now Take that afro and start rotating it 360 degrees. Shift it from the center to the left corner back to the center. Just try and keep control of that afro without thinking.
Begin to add things to the afro, perhaps ears, lips and a mouth. Morph that afro into something more. As you morph the object quickly draw out what you see, and keep transforming the object.
Example.
When I did this association, I had zoomed into the afro, and the hair turned into black springs. I drew it, and if I was marketing hair with extra bounce, that just maybe a really creative way to showcase the ad with springs in the hair for that extra bounce and volume. The new Volumizing shampoo from XYZ Company that adds real bounce.
Best of luck on this venture. If you have questions feel free to post a comment.

Wow, this really did work for me. I was skepticle at first but this is a new way of looking at it. Great post Mitesh.
I in the end thought about firecrackers shooting out of the afro. But I know that doesnt compete with your idea with the springs. That is super creative!
